Our last day ..
A big thanks to Global Environment Center and Jabatan Pelajaran Selangor we have learnt to appreciate the river :)
Dr. Kalithasan
We hope the river to look like this all the way down to the sea!
2) Cara penyediaan baja kompos
3) Cara membuat Jus sampah
En Azli sedang memberi taklimat tentang masalah sisa pepejal
Cara penyediaan baja kompos

Biological Monitoring at Site 1 !
At Site 1 we do the
Biological Monitoring
Biological monitoring can reveal important changes in the composition of biological communities caused by human activities .The approach relies on the great diversity of benthic macroinvertebrate life in rivers and streams to determine how suitable a waterbody is for the support of aquatic life .
We get nets, a small aquarium to put the organisms and a sifter to catch small organisms .
En. Azli is showing the procedure how to do the Biological Monitoring
Catching the organisms that we have found
We are identifying the organisms that we have found using the biomonitoring cards
Species that we have caught .
Nymphs - swimming mayfly nymphs , damselfly nymphs and dragonfly nymphs
Larvae - beetle larvae and other fly larvae
Insects - other water bugs
Molluscs - pagoda snails and other snails
After chemical monitoring we proceed to the
Physical Monitoring
Yeap, this is the how condition of the river when we see it
We do the Physical Monitoring by describing what we see according to the different attributes .
Colour &Appearance
The water was 'teh tarik' or brownish colour and there was a lot of rubbish inside and around the river.
Smell
There was a no smell of rubbish .
Vegetation
There were a few big trees and some weeds along some parts of the river but there were many bare areas too
Animals
There are no birds in the area but some dragonflies and butterflies
Activities
Human activities , Workshop and some food stall
